I really appreciate it when someone takes the time to write an article about those lost kids. The ones who go through the system as damaged goods, never really having the capacity to cope with or succeed in the system they are pushed into. Little surprise then when at the age of 13 or so, they decide that enough is enough and move out of the system and away from the challenges that schools make them face on a daily basis.
Schools and government still harp on about power to control and discipline children, but that is a tough pill to swallow if no-one takes into account how you are able to cope with these strategies.
I enjoyed this read from the TES written by Steve Eddison - what do you think?
Never give up on the grey kids
