time to reflect on which aspects were the most important or did you just
go for the most commonly used, familiar approaches or perhaps base it
on an existing policy?

And by engagement, I mean real engagement, not just being involved in writing the class rules. Things like having some choice in how behaviour problems are managed, whether there is some choice of resolution pathways, whether the child can make some of the decisions.
