It's always useful to see what others have said about the SBM programme, so I have collated some comments for you to read.
I would also add that this programme works best where there is direct and regular review, involvement and discussion with staff and SMT - it most certainly is not a hands-off, "I ticked the box" type of package, it requires consistent and real engagement from all.
Exclusions have been reduced. Children are taking more responsibility for their behaviour, less disruption in class, and increase in positive behaviour across the school.
The initiatives taken on have allowed children to be reintegrated at a much quicker rate and with a more successful rate of continued schooling and improved behaviour.
Pupils’ behaviour improved: fewer exclusions, fewer incidents, faster recovery time from incidents and pupils “owning up” and accepting responsibility for their actions
Staff empowered to take responsibility and improved teamwork
United approach to behaviour management
Capacity within the school has increased considerably
Huge reduction in the number of exclusions
Mike’s hands-on approach has been very useful in working with staff to deal with issues
We have found Mike very positive, enthusiastic and friendly about everything, even challenging questions by adults as well as challenging behaviour by children.
..we have been delighted with Mike and found his support very constructive for the school’s development
Very professional and supportive – flexible in his approach
Mike's work has been pivotal in improving the pupils’ behaviour and in helping the staff to develop the skills to increase their confidence when dealing with potentially confrontational situations
I can only sing Mike's praises and consider that with his support we have moved mountains
