It's quite a few years since I bought myself the book 'Whale Done: The Power of Positive Relationships' by Kenneth Blanchard, Mr. Lacinak, Mr. Tompkins and corporate trainer Jim Ballard
This book uses analogies from the world of Orca whales being trained at Sea World in Orlando Florida. Having seen these whales and their trainers in action, it is clear that there is something special going on, and I think anyone who has witnessed their shows would agree.
I have frequently referred to the statement in the book that refers to the bad behaviour, or unwanted behaviour that the whales show during training. It's not really going to work trying to send an 11,000lb killer whale to sit in the corner because he didn't respond correctly to some request or stimulus. No, the trainers reinforce what they want and redirect what they don't want. This way, the whales are very happy and are capable of completing some really complex tasks.
So it's no surprise to see schools taking on the programme - here's a write up from a successful project from a school in Pittsburgh USA.
